Who can do it?

The Award is open to any member of the Senior Section ages 16 – 25. It is meant to be as flexible as possible to allow for any changes in your life during this time, so even if you are studying for exams, starting your first job or starting a family this Award can be versatile for you.

What will you get out of it?

The Award is based on the concepts of personal challenge and participation, and gives you the chance to develop through activities that you enjoy. The Award will help you to develop various skills such as:
  • Team work
  • Planning and evaluation
  • Organisational skills
  • Communication skills
  • Time Management
Once you have finished the Award you will be awarded a silver brooch which can be worn on the Uniform, and a certificate signed by the Queen.

To summarise

Once you have decided to embark on the Award you need to –
1) Choose a mentor
2) Speak to Beverley or Stephanie
3) Download the registration form, which is available to download from http://www.girlguiding.org.uk//seniorsection/article.ASP?sID=51&aID=127
4) Fill in a rough copy of your award plan (available from Beverley)
5) Send a copy of the registration form to Region Office, CHQ and to Beverley
6) Send a copy of the Award Plan to Beverley
